What Doctors are saying:

Dr. Wilson's Comments

The WT3 Protocol Can Help Many People Recover

There are a lot of patients that doctors think of as being "fine" even though they complain of fatigue, headaches, depression, easy weight gain, irritability, and many other symptoms. I know, because I also had been trained to think that way.

Most doctors have been trained in medical school to think that if the patients' tests are fine there probably isn't anything significantly wrong. Many years ago, a patient brought me a book that introduced me to the idea that the body temperature might be a good indicator of the metabolic rate even if blood tests are normal.

Using body temperature as a guide, I began to see that patients often responded dramatically well to a certain thyroid medicine given in a certain way even though their thyroid blood tests were normal. I was surprised because that contradicted what I had been taught in school. What surprised me even more was when many of the patients remained improved even after the treatment had been discontinued.

Thus, not only did I see sick people with normal tests get better, I saw them stay better. This was eye-opening to me because it clearly demonstrated that restoration of health is often possible. So many times, we as doctors have been trained to think of health problems as something wrong that needs to be managed, instead of as something that can possibly be corrected.

How do we know when a treatment is actually correcting a problem instead of just covering symptoms? To me, when the symptoms remain improved even after the treatment's been discontinued, that's a very promising sign that some correction has taken place. On the other hand, if symptoms return once a treatment is stopped that suggests that the treatment was just masking symptoms.

WTSmed Supplements Can Help Many People Recover

The fact that Dr. Friedman was seeing persistent improvements in his patients managed with herbs is what really peaked my interest in his work. He wasn't only seeing complaints improve with his herbal formulas, he was seeing them often remain improved even after the herbs were discontinued.

To me, that's hugely significant. I knew restoration of health was possible because I had seen it before with the WT3 protocol. But I think a lot of doctors don't believe patients with chronic health problems can recover with herbs or other approaches because they've never seen such patients recover with conventional treatment. It may seem strange because one might presume that the whole point of medical treatment is to help people recover their health. But in real life, that is rarely the case. Sadly, the point of conventional medical treatment for chronic health problems is usually to help patients manage the symptoms of their "incurable" problems.

I first came in contact with Dr. Friedman in early 2001 when he was a Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Bridgeport Naturopathic Medical School. He was writing an endocrinology textbook and invited me to contribute to his chapter on Wilson's Temperature Syndrome. Later, I was a guest lecturer on WTS in his endocrinology class.

We also began working together on a research proposal on the use of the WT3 protocol in the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that is being backed by a major medical college. Along the way I became more familiar with Dr. Friedman's use of natural medicines (such as herbs), and was very intrigued by the results he was seeing.

I even told Dr. Friedman of some unusual symptoms my wife was experiencing and asked him if he had any suggestions. He did, and by taking herbal formulas he had recommended, my wife began feeling better almost immediately. Within a week she lost 4 pounds, felt less puffy and more toned, and she has continued to improve over time. My daughter and I have also benefited significantly from herbal formulas Dr. Friedman recommended, when other approaches hadn't worked. I've seen first hand that certain herbal formulas can often provide a lot of benefit.

I really enjoy taking WTSmed Supplements because of the restorative effects I've seen in myself. I've also had the opportunity to interview many of Dr. Friedman's patients and many have related that their complaints are remaining improved off the supplements.

The WT3 Protocol and WTSmed Supplements Combined Can Help Even More People Recover

For more than a year, Dr. Friedman has been designing and using herbal products in conjunction with the WT3 protocol. He has created some formulas that can often extend the benefits of the WT3 protocol and others that can diminish the chances of negative effects with the WT3 treatment.

Seeing how complementary and synergistic the WT3 therapy and the herbal formulas were to one another, Dr. Friedman thought many other doctors and patients could benefit from the herbal formulas he had designed. I certainly agreed. In fact, we chose the name WTS (which stands for Wilson's Temperature Syndrome) Medicines to reflect that synergy.

Since Wilson's Temperature Syndrome affects the metabolism, it can cause a multitude of seemingly unrelated symptoms. And, the WTS med Supplements can affect essentially the same complaints (and more) but in different ways. Thus, where the WT3 protocol for Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome doesn't help, WTSmed Supplements often can; and where WTSmed Supplements don't help, WT3 often can. And WT3 and WTSmed Supplements together can often help when neither can alone.

I think what bears the most emphasis is not that these combined modalities are helpful is such a wide variety of health problems, but that the symptoms often remain improved even after the treatments have been discontinued (which is why we like to use the term Restorative Medicine). To me, that is what is so interesting and exciting about these solutions.

Several other factors also set our solutions apart,

  1. The combining of hormones (like the T3 in the WT3 protocol) with herbs (as in WTSmed Supplements).
  2. The combining of herbs from different cultures or traditions and from different parts of the world
  3. Using herbs that were extremely popular and successful about 100 years ago but that have been forgotten or overlooked (out of vogue).

These factors appear to explain the great results we are seeing in otherwise difficult to manage chronic health problems.
