Dr.Wilson, I was just recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I am not taking any thyroid medication, but am just working with a Naturopathic Doctor on reducing the inflammation in my gut in order to reduce the antibodies, so that my thyroid can try to work on its own. When we started my thyroid antibodies were very high(4500) . After 5 months we have gotten them down to just over 300. I am very fatigued & achy still, but feeling a little better. Would any of the stuff you use help my situation or is it just for hypothyroidism, not the autoimmune disease. Thanks for your help, I look forward to hearing from you. Shelley Benson

Dear Shelley, Below is some information from the ThyroCare page. You can also read about Thyroid Px by clicking here. WT3 by itself can cause thyroid antibodies to go down, and doctors and patients have reported to us that ThyroCare and/or Thyroid Px has brought the antibodies down by itself as well. But we believe that using the WT3 protocol along with the ThyroCare and/or Thyroid Px will enable a lot of people to get great results at balancing their immune system.

I am hypothyroid and am on thyroxine (125 mcg) but I still have hypo symptoms. My temperature is currently running at 35-36 degrees celsius, and I can't seem to get it any higher. Doctors just say I'm a ''cold'' person. I am fighting to try to get T3 treatment from the local hospital but the NHS doesn't approve (probably because it is costly). Despite feeling so tired I find that when my body temperature is so low my sleep is very disurbed. Is this normal?

Absolutely, Low temperatures can certainly explain insomnia. Many patients complain that they are "tired during the day and can't sleep at night." Best regards, Denis Wilson, MD

I tried WTS about a year ago and am sorry to say that I gave up at the first hurdle. My tempertaure at the start was 96.3 and increased to about 97 on 7.5mcg. When I increased this dose to 15mcg my temperature dropped to 95.3 and I felt worse. The doctor advisng me did not seem to understand the protocol and I gave up after a few days because I felt worse. Since then in the past year I have read your patient annd doctor's manuals and I now understand that I was a one day compenstator. I am wondering whether to give it another go, with another doctor, but am not sure from reading the manuals exactly what the guidance is for one day compenstators. I would appreciate your help please.

Dear John, One-day compensators are increased on their doses daily, and sometimes every twelve hours, in an effort to quickly take control of the thyroid system. Otherwise, the protocol and treatment principles are the same for one-day compensators as they are for others. As you've probably read, one day compensators often have a tendency toward T3 unsteadiness, which means extra care should be taken to follow the protocol closely in an effort to keep T3 levels as steady as possible. Please see Q7 and also Module 4. You and your doctor will need to decide how best to proceed with your treatment. If your doctor has questions/concerns about your case, he/she can call 800-420-5801 for a phone consultation with one of our staff physicians (there is no charge). Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD
