I have been taking the ThyroCare since December 2004 and noticed an improvement immediately. My energy increased significantly. I am on my second cycle of T3. I intend to keep taking it until I capture my temperature. I am very grateful for Dr. Wilson and his website/newsletters. Kate R.

Dear Dr. Kupsinel, [On the WTS Physician List] Just wanted to send you a note about my progress. I had my first appointment with you last Monday, 6-26-96 and I received the thyroid kit (Wilson's) on Friday and started it today-Sunday. I can't tell you what a difference the adrenal support products have made in how I feel. I started them on Monday when I got home and have taken them ever since and I feel so much calmer, clearer mentally, more centered, less apt to get mad or upset and I don't get tired as easily. I am amazed at the difference they make. They are just incredible and I don't say that lightly. I was almost afraid to start the thyroid rx for fear I wouldn't feel as good or it would take away from the adrenal benefit but I remember what you said. It's been a long time since I have felt good and from reading the Doctor's Manual I may have been having thyroid imbalance for many years not knowing what it was. And for sure I have stressed my adrenals. I just hope they can rest up and come back fully functional without supplements after awhile. Anyway, thank you so much for being there and providing this kind of treatment. I've never taken anything that worked so well and so quickly as the adrenal support. Also I certainly fit into the Irish/Scots/Native American information since that's basically my whole heritage. Thank you sincerely again. JM, Florida

The WTSmed Supplements that I have taken so far have made me feel, in general, much better & I am very happy to tell you that I have new hair growth showing. But most of all, I am feeling better in general. I'm so very glad to have discovered you (and your help). Sincerely, Dorothy A.

I am currently on my second cycle of T-3. I am maintaining at 75 mcg everyday for 3 weeks before weaning down again. I thought I would feel better by now but I still feel bad (depressed, fat, etc) and my temps are still below normal. What is happening? I have battled with these symptoms all my life. Is that the problem? Thanks.

A low temperature is definitely enough to explain depression and easy weight gain (even though it's not the only possible explanation). The symptoms of patients with low temperatures normally improve on the WT3 when the patients' temperatures approach normal. When patients' temperatures don't go up on 75mcg BID (twice a day) of T3 on the first cycle, some doctors continue cycling up to 90mcg BID, or even up to 112.5mcg BID (as covered in the Doctor's Manual). And if the patients' temperatures don't go up on the first cycle, doctors sometimes try 2,3,4, or more cycles as needed to get their temperatures up. Some doctors also add thyroid support such as ThyroCare or Thyroid Px. If your doctor has questions he may call 800-420-5801 to make a free appointment with a doctor to discuss your case. Best regards, Denis Wilson, MD

I started on T3 almost 3 weeks ago.....hair loss is less, how long before I see regrowth? Thank You, Suzanne H.

Hi Suzanne, That varies. Sometimes regrowth begins right away when hair loss stops. However, hair loss can sometimes stop completely without regrowth beginning right away. Like other symptoms, hair loss seems to respond best when body temperatures are normal AND steady (you can review the beginning of Chapter 7 of the Doctor's Manual). Sometimes steady levels of T3 and body temperature are not possible while a patient is still on the T3, and regrowth only begins once the T3 has been discontinued. In other words, the T3 therapy can bring the temperature up and weaning off can let it steady down. So the T3 therapy performed a necessary service, but also needed to be stopped before the full benefit could be realized. Still, it is true that some people have trouble regrowing hair, for one reason or another, even when their temperatures are normal and steady off treatment. Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD

My son was diagnosed with an under active thyroid following the heel-prick test when he was a baby. He has been on thyroxine ever since. His dosage is based on his height/weight growth charts and on 6-month blood tests. He has a poor memory but they say that's just being a 10 year old boy and nothing to do with the condition but he also gets bad tempered and is more anxious and unhappy than our other 2 children and I worry that I'm not doing the best for him by trusting the doctors. Whenever I raise it they say he shouldn't be having any thyroid related symptoms because he is on thyroxine so effectively has no deficiency. I feel so helpless and lacking in knowledge. What do you think? Thank you for listening.

I think that giving people thyroid medicine without regard to their body temperatures is inadequate because it frequently results in less than optimum management of symptoms. You can try to educate the doctors that you have by using the Doctor's Manual, referring them to our website, inviting them to call for a free discussion with a doctor, using a CD according to the Patient Guide. Or, you can look for a doctor familiar with using thyroid medicine with regard to the body temperature on this list of WTS Physicians. Best wishes, Denis Wilson, MD
