After about 2 months of taking ThyroCare mostly 3 times a day and Healthy Foundation twice a day, I started seeing my temps come up and weight coming down. My temp is still low in the AM when I awaken around 97 to 97.3. After about 3 hrs. it starts going up to around 98 or 98.2 and by late afternoon I reach 98.4 or 98.6. Before supplementing with these products it never seemed to reach 98. There was a period around that 2 month mark where I lost my cravings for sweets and was eating a lot less. That probably lasted about 3 weeks. I am now eating more but still less than before supplementing and the sweet cravings are much less. Also during that time I was sleeping a lot more, going to bed around 9 - 9:30 which is early for me. I am back to going to bed between 11 and midnight most nights. I do have more energy... My lower back is not as stiff in the morning when I wake up as it used to be, and my hair loss is less. On the 29th it will be 3 months that I am taking the products and really believe they have helped.++ Thanks, Elaine

I seem to be doing quite well on the three supplements I am taking (Healthy Foundation, ThyroCare and Adaptogen). I have noticed some improvements. For example, my mood is much better - all the time. My average temperature rose from about 96.5 to 97.5. Since my complaints have been present for many years, I intend to continue on these supplements for maybe a year, and if by then I am not reaching an average of 98.6 I will try to find a doctor who is willing to prescribe the T3 regime for me. Unlike your recent correspondent, I quite like the taste of Healthy Foundation; in fact I look forward to taking it, especially in the mornings. I'd just like to say a big Thank You for your research, for making these products available, and for your efficient staff, who has had to deal with my queries regarding the shipping costs (those UPS costs [outside the US] are the only downside).++ With best wishes, Norah P. My wife is 80 yrs old. She has an underactive thyroid and has been taking Synthroid for many years. She has several of the symptoms: Depression, Brittle nails, Dry skin and hair, Cold intolerance, Poor memory, Low motivation, and Poor concentration. I took her temperature for several days (three times a day as recommended). The average was 96.8 degrees. I have not located a doctor in this area that is willing to try T3 therapy. Can we try the treatment ourselves? Thank You, JB Bethany, OK

Dear JB, T3 is actually quite a powerful hormone and is available only by prescription. It's always important that both doctor and patient have a good understanding of the treatment before undertaking it (which is why we make the Patient's Book and Doctor's Manual available for free online. Also, I feel extra care and consideration should be taken in patients over 65 years of age. Hope that helps, Denis Wilson, MD

I starated on the T3 cycle 3 days ago. I had been taking the ThyroCare and Adaptogen. I am staying on the Adaptogen. Is is ok to continue on the ThyroCare while following the T3 program? Will it make a difference if a person does or doesn't? Thank you, Christine M.

ThyroCare has been designed to complement the WT3 protocol and to be taken alone or in conjunction with the T3. Some patients who weren't getting their temperatures up with the WT3 protocol alone, were able to get them up when they added ThyroCare to the T3 program. Warmly, Denis Wilson, MD

What kind of success has there been with those who have had a partial thyroidectomy in stabilizing their temperature, and are they able to forego taking thyroid hormones once they are stable? Is one-third of the thyroid gland enough or are extra hormones usually necessary?

I am not aware of very many cases like the one you describe. However, some patients with partial thyroidectomies are able to maintain their temperatures on their own after treatment has been discontinued. Kind regards, Denis Wilson, MD
